Our 70% knitted shade is designed to be used with a frame. The edges are folded, covered with shade tape and sewn with a double-needle lockstitch machine, with grommets about every 12" on all 4 sides. Life expectancy is about 10 years.
Knitted shade can't be pulled tight and hung flat in the air — it will sag (choose a woven shade for that). It's great for dog kennels or keeping leaves out of a pool, and small holes can be fixed with a simple zip tie.
