The fibers are woven together in a pattern that allows 27% of the sunlight to pass through the material. This material is sensitive to touch and is not designed to with stand any kind of abuse. If a Shade Panel made with this fabric is hung properly the life expectancy is 10 years. Life expectancy is relative to the size of the panel, the environment the panel is used in, and the number of times it is put up and taken down. When hanging and removing a shade panel made with this material it is very important that the material is not treated roughly or it will not last its full life. A shade panel made from this material will weigh approximately .035 lbs/square foot (a 10’x20’ tarp will weigh approximately 7 lbs).
